Natures Narratives in Action
Where our stories become action, giving back to the communities, people and landscapes that support our journey.
There is a word in high regions of the Andes where the Quechua people live called Ayni - meaning “Today for you, tomorrow for me.” This is a phrase reflects a way of living that is rooted in a state of reciprocity, mutual support and the understanding that we are all connected.
When we travel to these places around the world we directly impact the local people in either positive or negative ways. Often we are taking so much of these places and consuming so much which is why it’s important to give back. The people of the areas in Peru where we visit are some of the most beautiful, resilient, welcoming and kind-hearted people in the world but yet lack some important necessities and resources in their communities that we often take for granted.
This is why Natures Narratives has created a donation fund called “Natures Narratives in Action” which reflects the mutual exchange between people, land and community.
Contributions will be used to support community-led projects and local initiatives in examples below, helping ensure our work remains rooted in respect, relationship, and reciprocity.
Community projects
environmental stewardship
support local families in retreat communities
educational initiatives
infrastructure improvements
scholarships
emergency community support
The scholarship program, personally is a very important initiative to me. Many individuals are in the great need for healing yet do not have the financial means to do so. Early in my own healing journey I was in a similar position and through the generosity of others helped create opportunities that changed the course of my life. It is my hope that this fund can help create similar opportunities for others who are seeking healing but may currently not have the means to access it.
If you feel called to contribute, know that every donation, regardless of size, is received with deep gratitude and will be directed toward creating meaningful impact where it is needed most.
Thank you for being part of this journey and for helping us extend the spirit of Ayni beyond the retreat experience. “Today for you, tomorrow for me,” together we can continue making positive change through compassion, connection and community, creating new beautiful stories in life through Natures Narratives..
With much gratitude,
Ryan Joseph
